My feeling about this restaurant is better than before. Lovely menu with healthy choices and small portion choices.

I had the veggie wrap (not a small portion!) and it was delicious and enough to take half home. Came with a salad with lovely dressing. My friend had the shrimp tacos and a side of rice with a little corn which looked delicious and she confirmed it was. We were there from 12:30-2 and it was quite busy but still good service. The rest room could have used some attention, however. Prices seem steep for lunch.
Our bill with tip was just over $50. We went to Truxton’s buffet on Mother’s Day and it was superb. They had a wide variety of food items: cooked-to-order omelets, prime rib, shrimp, crab legs, chicken, chicken wings, scrambled eggs, eggs benedict, sausage, breakfast sausage, bacon, and more. And then there was the dessert buffet that left your mouth watering! The service was excellent – a very attentive waiter who was there to meet your needs without being overbearing.
Everyone was very friendly and helpful. One of the drawbacks was that we had reservations at 2 PM and we weren’t seated until 2:30PM (the buffet closed at 3 PM). Because of this, some of the food items ran out before we were able to taste any (chocolate covered strawberries). That was my only complaint, otherwise it was a wonderful experience that has me planning another brunch in the near future!
I have dietary restrictions so I called ahead to make sure the food was not prepared ahead of time. I was advised as to which items I could order, and so I made reservations.
It was early in the evening so we were seated immediately. Beth was our server. She was very helpful with the menu, making excellent recommendations for the others in our group. We ran into a slight problem when the chef realized while they could accommodate my main entree request there was a problem with the side orders as they were premade and they contained the ingredient I am allergic to. We were able to figure out a work around.
Beth was very busy so service was slow, thus the reason for my 4 stars. Also, it got noisy as more people arrived. The restaurant is not large, and it is very popular, so people were milling around, which doesn't create a relaxing environment. I ended up ordering the Cabrese Burger. The burger was perfectly seasoned and cooked medium as requested. It was on a layer of field greens. My side dish was cooked mixed vegetables.
The burger is pricey, $16.25, but the quality of the meat is such it is worth the price. One lady in our group had the grilled fish tacos, which were tasty, but very expensive tacos, $16.95. Another lady had the Cold Red Quinoa Bowl, which is $16.85. She enjoyed her dish as well. The food is excellent at Truxtons.
The restaurant needs more staff during the busy hours.
